For me this poem is a prophecy of the destructive power of the human race and how our warlike characteristics turn us against nature. By always trying to defeat nature we are in fact destroying ourselves. The language within the poem reflects the meaning of the poem through sound techniques and imagery. I think this poem should be in english. I find this poem a beautiful reminder of how really reliant we are on nature itself, and how, one way or another, it makes no difference to our world. It was the perfect way to sum up the short, give it a message and moral. We should be more tolerant of our environment, and it may even return the favor. I think this poem really expresses how humans think they are really powerful, but later came to realize that they are not the most powerful when nature does not care what happened to humankind.
I think this poem has two way in which it can be analyzed. One is with the rift between nature and man and how man is much more temporal than nature itself. The other i believe is related to the era of the writer herself, between the timeliness of war in America.
